Veerabhadra

A solitary figure of Veerabhadra–Crowned, with matted locks and abundant jewelry. He stands on his platform sandals holding his shield, bow, and a hand drum. At one point this particular lost wax casting of Veerabhadra may have had precious stones in his eyes as these are slightly concave.

18th c. There has been some loss of definition in facial features from rubbing and worship. There is a fine crack around the waist, but the crack does not appear to have been repaired. The concave eyes no longer hold the precious stones that were likely to have been placed in there. And his navel has been enlarged, possibly with a stone now removed. And there is a small chip in the base.
