An extraordinary Devi who once accompanied Vishnu. Her classically arranged tribhanga (3 fold) posture accentuates her beauty along with her jewelry and diaphanous clothing. Her hair is wrapped into a high bun.
She is a lost wax casting in a blend of eight metals which included gold and silver. The “ashtadhatu” blend of metals are considered pure, do not decay, and hold sacred significance.
This Devi has been worshipped and so there are residual red powders adorning the brightness of the metal.
